Semiconductor industry veteran boosts executive bench at materials metrology company
Sunnyvale, Calif., March 15, 2007 – ReVera Incorporated, the
materials metrology company, today announced the appointment of Alain Harrus,
Ph.D., to its Board of Directors. A distinguished semiconductor processing
technologist and more recently an investor in high-growth, early-stage
companies, Harrus brings a combination of technology know-how and business
expertise to ReVera as it expands its installed base of market-leading metrology
solutions. Harrus is currently a partner at Crosslink Capital, a San
Francisco-based venture capital firm.
Harrus’ appointment comes at a
time of growth for ReVera. In the last six months, the company has seen
accelerated demand for its VeraFlex™ metrology system. A succession of orders
from SMIC, Toshiba and the Crolles2 Alliance document the tool’s performance
advantages and its role as a yield enabler in today’s advanced fabs. The order
momentum also highlights the tool’s growing adoption as the metrology solution
of choice to address the increasing level of sensitivity for the full range of
leading-edge films and structures in both development and production
environments.
“Alain’s unique understanding of semiconductor manufacturing challenges at
the leading edge, coupled with his knowledge of ReVera’s innovative materials
metrology solutions makes him a valuable addition to our board,” commented
ReVera CEO Dave Ring. “He is a strong champion of ReVera’s technology and an
engaged advisor on our R&D and strategic growth initiatives. We are pleased to
welcome him to our board and we look forward to benefiting from his counsel.”
Harrus’ semiconductor industry experience includes roles at AT&T Bell
Laboratories, Lam Research and Novellus Systems, where he served as vice
president and chief technology officer. At Crosslink Capital, he focuses on the
firm’s core technology/semiconductor investing activities. Harrus holds a BS
degree in Mathematics and MS degree in Physics from the University of Paris XI
at Orsay, France, and Ph.D. in Experimental Solid State Physics from Temple
University in Philadelphia.
