San Francisco, Calif., February 24, 2004 – ReVera completed its initial round of
venture funding in January 2004, led by Crosslink Capital Partners, in
conjunction with members of ReVera's senior management team. These funds will be
used for expansion of world wide service and support, as well as for continued
development of new product capabilities. ReVera, previously an operating unit of
Physical Electronics, is the first company to commercialize traditional
laboratory based surface analytical techniques for characterizing
compositionally critical films. Dave Perloff, Director and senior advisor to the
company, states: "We have moved beyond traditional optical techniques, and must
now characterize films one atom at a time. ReVera's approach, which involves
X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, is the logical next step in the historic
progression of thin film metrology."
