ReVera Enhances Leadership Team by Adding Three
Experienced Industry Executives
Sunnyvale, Calif., April 11, 2005 – ReVera Inc., continuing to build upon the
rapid market acceptance of its semiconductor metrology solutions, has
significantly enhanced the bandwidth and capabilities of its leadership team by
adding three experienced semiconductor industry executives. The hiring of
Timothy Welch as Chief Financial Officer and J. Kelly Truman and Rodney Smedt as
Vice Presidents marks a continuing effort to build a top performing company in
the semiconductor metrology equipment market.

Mr. Welch, who has over 20 years experience working with Silicon Valley
technology-based companies, fills the newly created CFO role. Prior to joining
ReVera, Welch was CFO at Boxer Cross, a metrology company that was sold to
Applied Materials. He has also been CFO of Promptu Corporation and Asyst
Technologies, where he took the company public as CFO. In addition to his
finance experience, he has held a number of operating positions including
President of Imtec Acculine.
Bolstering its capabilities in marketing and customer operations, the company
added Dr. Truman as Vice President of Marketing, bringing depth in semiconductor
technology and strategic marketing, and created a new VP of Customer Operations
position, filled by Tom Larson. Dr. Truman brings to the company over 20 years
of technology leadership and marketing experience in the electronics industry.
Prior to joining ReVera, Truman built up and served as General Manager of the
Wet Clean Division at Applied Materials, where he had previously been
responsible for product and strategic marketing for the new Rapid Thermal
Processing Division through its growth into the multi-product Thermal Processing
Group. Immediately prior to joining ReVera he spent a year on the Materials
Science faculty of the University of Florida, working on multidisciplinary
advanced materials programs while also consulting for major semiconductor
capital equipment companies. He has also held technical positions with
Conductus, CVC, and Tektronix.
Mr. Smedt, the new Vice President of Engineering, brings over twenty years
experience in successful engineering management, including product development
and rollout to manufacturing. Prior to joining ReVera, he served as the Vice
President of Engineering for Therma-Wave Inc, a leading manufacturer of Thin
Film and Ion Implant Metrology Equipment. Prior to Therma-Wave, Smedt was Sr.
Director of Engineering for the Integrated Metrology Division at KLA-Tencor,
where he had previously been Director of Systems Engineering for the highly
successful Un-Patterned Wafer Inspection Products. Before joining KLA-Tencor he
developed numerous products for the semiconductor industry in addition to
co-founding an automated wafer inspection equipment business.
